The Tigrigna Nation

The Tigrigna are the only black people who are an organic civilizational nation. We are culturally homogeneous, with a high level of social trust and no tribal or clan system or structure. We are 80% in Eritrea and 6% in Ethiopia.

Ancient Civilization

Our ancient nationhood civilization history spans 4000 years of Judeo-Christian civilization. We are the only black people with our own written language with distinct alphabets, ancient, settled cities and farming villages, ancient international maritime trading, over 400 years of old written laws, and high-level civilization of government/state creating institutions and taxation.

Religion and Culture

The Tigrinya nation is the only ancient black people who are part of the Judeo-Christian civilization. Our religion combines Orit and Christianity. The Orit religion is Torah-based, with a priesthood system in the Ge’ez language, without rabbinical systems and Babylon Talmud.

Strategic Position and Challenges

Positioned strategically along the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb, the Tigrinya nation thrived as a maritime powerhouse. However, the start of an aggressive expansionist Islamic empire in the 6th century had devastating consequences, disrupting trade, and plunging the Tigrinya nation into isolation, backwardness, and poverty.

Resilience and Survival

We, the Tigrinya, endured and survived centuries of Islamic invasions, genocides, destruction of our Temples, Monasteries, books and manuscripts, slavery, and isolation. We endured and survived the Amhara warlords’ savage and brutal atrocities, the Italians extreme racism and fascism, and the half-million Ethiopian army led and armed by the Soviet Union generals.

Unconquered Nation

Tigrigna is the only nation that has never been conquered by Islam in the Red Sea and the Middle East. The Tigrinya people have defended and preserved their Judeo-Christian civilization and national identity.
